VIRESCO^® Sator for the EROSION CONTROL

VIRESCO^®, the biodegradable textile, contains seeds and fertilizers suitable to the most different needs, from the grass cover to the erosion control.

Its innovative technology allows seeds and fertilizers to be dosed, distributed and kept inside, according to pre-arranged densities and gaps so that these elements cannot change their position during the different phases involved: the handling, the transportation, the installation and the settlement. Inside VIRESCO^®, seeds sprout and grow well protected, giving excellent grass cover results.

You have just to prepare the ground, turning over the upper layer (5-10 cm) , removing the pre-existing vegetation and any rocks and levelling it.

VIRESCO^® is light, thin and elastic, easy to lay down, it doesn’t require specialised manpower and perfectly adheres to the ground. VIRESCO® fits to the conformation of the soil and protect it from the sheet erosion making inoffensive the surface run-offs.

It is fast to lay it down (two people lay 500 m² of VIRESCO^® in around 40 minutes on a slope with a 35°-40° inclination, while on plain surfaces the same operation takes just 20 minutes).

Using simple domestic scissors you can cut and shape it.

It is a natural product, totally biodegradable in 4-5 months, depending on the ground type and on the environmental and climatic conditions. Any residue contributes to enhance the soil.

It is available in a natural green colour, for a pleasant first impression and for a better adaptation to the landscape.

It contains high quality seeds and granulated fertilizers, precisely proportioned and scattered. These elements are firmly kept inside the weft even during the handling phases and protected by the scouring in the worst weather conditions or during massive irrigations. The even distribution guarantees the uniform germination.

Thanks to VIRESCO^® you don’t suffer from loss of seeds due to the excessive depth as it often happens after a traditional sowing.

Furthermore, VIRESCO^® controls the soil temperature and reduces the evapotranspiration keeping the soil more humid.

The seeds used are mixtures suited to the season, to the pedological conditions, to the type of utilisation, with a further chance of customisation for reduced quantities.

Thanks to VIRESCO^® no additional sowings are required.

The immediate adherence of VIRESCO^® to the ground causes the stop of the surface erosion from the moment the product is laid down. The soil losses are effectively controlled thanks to the stay of the biotextile that lasts much longer than the release time of the vegetal essences. This function is then performed by the settled grass turf.

The traditional method involves the use of bionets/biomats for the erosion control and the broadcasting or the hydroseeding for the grass cover. Using VIRESCO^® all these tasks are performed during just a single operational phase, giving you great effectiveness and reducing the costs as well. Moreover, unlike the geonets, the light felt used doesn’t trap or stop the crossing of the local fauna.

VIRESCO^® guarantees very good results even on steep slopes, up to 85°of inclination, for instance when used in the reinforced soils in geotechnics.

When applied to the REINFORCED SOILS, characterised by extreme inclination, VIRESCO^®, in addition to the control of the surface erosion, enables to keep the thin ground particles. In this case too, seeds and fertilizers will be kept safe from the worst weather conditions and will have the best chance to strike.

It prevents the growth of the weeds allowing the summer sowings too.

VIRESCO^® provides a very effective protection against pathogens, insects and birds.

On the slopes we recommend the use of pegs, but, again, the number of pegs required is lower than the ones needed for the traditional, heavier biomats. We also suggest the utilization of U-shaped steel staples or wooden or biodegradable plastic pegs, suitable to VIRESCO^®.

Light and easy to carry (approx. 20 Kg per 100 square metres!), it can be applied even on locations difficult to reach.

Low carriage costs: a lorry could carry approx. 40,000 square metres of VIRESCO^®.

If stocked in a dry place inside its nylon packaging, the product life is longer than one year.
